Well, This Was Bound To Happen

So, it didn’t take long to prove I’m not naturally cut out for regular blog updates. But hey, I’ve been busy. The last 2 months have been a whirlwind of PD training, tubing, bachelorette party-ing, the OLYMPICS, roller coaster-ing, reconnecting with old friends, flying across the country for an unmissable wedding, and – back in DC – goodbye party after goodbye party after goodbye party.

The first cluster of ridiculously good looking and talented folks from my A-100 class have filtered out to posts from Matamoros to Abuja to Manila. We have instituted a fantastic policy to keep everyone updated. One week after arrival at post, we’re to send out a mass email to our classmates. Another email is to go out at the one month mark, and again at the one year mark. Several one week updates have been filed already, and it’s readily apparent what a wonderful idea it was! It is also amazing to hear about the incredible experiences people are having after just one week – although I’ll admit it’s odd to hear about others’ adventures while I still have months of training ahead of me. Don’t get me wrong: I’m appreciative of the opportunity to stay in DC a while longer, but part of me is itching to end the suspense about what life and work in Bangui will be like!

So that’s my long-winded excuse for neglecting my nascent blog. I’ll try to be better in the future. Also, check out the links in this post to find out more about my recent adventures 🙂
